  • 2027 Coverage Needs: Ongoing, approximately 4-12 shifts per month (PRN)
  • Schedule Details: 24-hour call; 7a-7a
  • Procedures:
    • Cystoscopy and/or stent placement for hematuria
    • Kidney stone treatment with possible extraction or holmium laser lithotripsy
    • Torsion of testicle (rare occurrence)
    • UTI management
    • Consultation with ED or other providers for Foley Catheter placement
    • Rounding if the locum performs procedure and patient is in-house
  • Certifications Needed: Board Certified
  • Patient Population/Case Load: Adult, variable - patients are not scheduled
  • Trauma Level: Level 2

Licensing and Privileging:

  • License: An active Pennsylvania state license or an IMLC membership is required.
  • Willing to License: No
  • Estimated Privileging Timeline: 60-90 days

Day to day

Support staff: Urology PA, inpatient support EMR: Cerner – inpatient; GE centricity – outpatient (to review patient records if admitted)c 24-hour weekday coverage, rounding on inpatient setting in AM and possible emergency surgery if needed. This is a busy setting as site is the hub for outlaying client facilities

Case mix

  • Special procedures:
  • o Possibly cystoscopy and or stent placement for hematuria
