Shift Details

  • Schedule Details: Average workday is 6 to 8 hours.
  • Number of Shifts Needed per Month: High-volume surgical team. Current volume is about 130 CABG annually. TAVR volume is similar.
  • Procedures: Cardiac and associated skills whether thoracic or vascular.
  • Certifications Needed: Relevant certifications for cardiovascular surgery.
  • Patient Population/Case Load: High-volume surgical team.
  • Case Mix: Collaborative and experienced heart team includes 5 Interventional Cardiologists, 2 General Cardiologists, 1 Electrophysiologist, and 2 Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgeons. Dedicated CV OR team, including anesthesia, perfusion, and CVICU support.
  • EMR in Use: Transitioning to Epic EMR for enhanced efficiency and care coordination.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Cardiovascular Surgeon to join our collaborative and experienced heart team in Missouri. The ideal candidate will be board eligible and possess the necessary credentials to perform cardiac and associated thoracic or vascular procedures. You will be working with a high-volume surgical team, contributing to approximately 130 CABG and similar TAVR volumes annually.


Our facility boasts three dedicated CVORs, including a hybrid room and two dedicated ORs equipped with advanced technology such as the DaVinci Xi robot. You will be supported by a highly skilled cath lab team and a dedicated CV OR team, including anesthesia, perfusion, and CVICU support.


This locum tenens position offers a flexible schedule with an average workday of 6 to 8 hours. The initial coverage period is from December 18, 2026, to January 2, 3, or 8th, with ongoing opportunities for 1 or 2 weeks per month in 2027.

Day to day

Depending upon their scheduled surgery schedule it could go over the 8 hours during the week, but that is case by case. Some days it very well could be less than 8 hours that they are here, other days it may be a little longer than 8 hours they are here. On the weekends, unless they would be doing an urgent/emergent procedure, they come to the hospital and round on the patients with our APP team member.

  • ACLS certification
  • Covid-19 Immunization certification

Other details

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in a broad spectrum of adult cardiac and vascular procedures, with valuable experience in general thoracic surgery. Preference will be given to the candidates who are in driving distance , have No malpractice history and able to commit to 1 to 2 weeks per month in 2027. IMLC candidates are ok if they can obtain MO license before the start date.
