We are seeking dedicated and experienced OBGYN Hospitalists to join our team in Iowa. This role is crucial in providing comprehensive care and leadership during obstetric emergencies. Day to day

Responsibility for managing labor and performing Deliveries Availability to provide overall support for the OBED and L&D units Provie rapid evaluation and management of obstetric patients presenting to the OB Emergency Department, initiating care within 30 minutes and independently assessing patients. The position collaborates closely with midwives, providing consultation, delivery planning, and delivery for higher‑risk or complex patients. Job Responsibilities: OBED patients emergent patients (vaginal deliveries and C-sections) patients without primary OBGYN only maternity transport team in Iowa

Case mix

  • The Hospitalist oversees labor management, including fetal monitoring, procedures, delivery assistance, and provides courtesy deliveries when the primary OB/GYN is unavailable. They serve as the clinical lead during obstetric emergencies and rapid response events and remain available for OB consults.
  • The role includes managing high‑acuity obstetric cases, coordinating admissions, transfers, operative care with required peer‑to‑peer communication, and delivering comprehensive antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care for unassigned and transfer patients.
  • No GYN responsibilities
