- Schedule Details: 100% Inpatient 24-Hour Beeper Call (6:00 AM – 6:00 AM)
- Procedures:
- Neonatal airway management (including intubation)
- Management of neonatal air leak / pneumothorax (including needle decompression)
- Emergent UVC placement in the delivery room
- UVC / UAC line placement
- Lumbar puncture
- EKG interpretation
- Certifications Needed: Relevant certifications for neonatal procedures
- Patient Population/Case Load: Approximately 80% NICU / 20% Pediatrics
- Case Mix: NICU care down to 32 weeks, newborn resuscitations, and management of 32-week preemies and up
- Preferred Skills: Ventilator management and neonatal chest tube insertion

- Shift pattern: 24 Hour Call
- Setting: 100% Inpatient 24-Hour Beeper Call. 6:00 AM – 6:00 AM (24-hour shifts).

- Non-neonatal central lines are not performed. Invasive pediatric procedures (e.g., pediatric intubations and chest tubes) are typically handled by ED physicians or Anesthesia.
