We are seeking a Board Certified Pediatric Optometrist for a locum tenens position in California. This role involves working with a diverse pediatric population, including patients with complex needs such as those on the autism spectrum, and those co-managed by other pediatric specialties. The facility is equipped with all necessary imaging devices, and you will have the support of skilled technicians for diagnostic imaging.
The ideal candidate will have experience in pediatric optometry, particularly with strabismus/binocular vision exams, and be comfortable performing contact lens fittings for children. This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts.

Day to day
Support staff: techs, ophthalmologists, optometrists Patient population/age: mostly all pediatrics, they see some adults with developmental delays and double vision. It’s not mandatory for the locum to see adult pts.

Case mix
- Department description: sees bread and butter and high acuity peds optometry patients, facility has all imaging devices needed, techs are there to run diagnostic imaging. Optometrists are responsible for works ups and patient care. Department sees patients of all cognitive abilities, with a lot of patients on the spectrum. A lot of patients that are co-managed by other peds specialties at the facility like those with seizures and facial abnormalities.
