Shift Details
- Estimated Start Date: February 16, 2026
- Requested Date of Coverage and Schedule: Start date is tentative and can be discussed. There may be a need for more hours around Spring 2026.
- Schedule Details: 12-16 hours/week. Facility can only accept 16 hours max at this time.
- Procedures: Provide psychiatric assessments, medication management, and ongoing mental health care for developmentally disabled patients with co-occurring mental health disorders, including diagnosing per DSM criteria, completing MSEs, prescribing medication (including controlled substances), coordinating treatment plans, and delivering care via telehealth or onsite.
- Certifications Needed: Requirements include an active CA license, board certification or eligibility (preferred but not required, certification to be obtained within 5 years of residency), authorization to prescribe controlled substances, flu/COVID vaccination.
- Patient Population/Case Load: The role includes 6–10 patients per 7.5-hour day.
- Case Mix: Primarily managing conditions such as anxiety, depression, intermittent explosive disorder, disruptive mood disorder, OCD, schizoaffective disorder, and bipolar disorder, with occasional JV-220 cases.
- Other details: The psychiatrist will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, maintain compliance with Medi-Cal/Medicare standards, complete clinical documentation in the EHR, participate in quality initiatives, provide family/caregiver guidance, and prepare legal or clinical reports when needed.

Day to day
They can choose to have a lunch hour, half hour or no lunch. How ever many hours the provider decides to sign on for, he/she can design the schedule as long as it works for the clinic and is the same every week. EMR: OTHER
Practice details
- Not solo coverage
- Shift pattern: Clinic;Day
- Setting: business hours are Monday to Friday 8:30 to 5. Provider can choose to do an 8 hour shift starting at 8:30, lunch, then finishing at 5:00 PM. Or provider can choose something like 9 AM to 1 PM 3 days a week, or 9 am to 3:00 PM 2 days a week.
Case mix
- Type of patient population for C/A patients, and specifically if it involved JV-222 cases? A small fraction of their work involves JV220 forms
- What type of mental health disorders they will be focused on (depression, anxiety, etc.). Most common are Anxiety Disorder, Intermittent explosive disorder, Depression, disruptive mood disorder, some OCD, some schizoaffective disorder, and some bipolar are the most common.
Dates & schedule
11/02/2026 - Ongoing 12-16 hours/week. Facility can only accept 16 hrs max at this time. Approx. 16 hours per week (Can be negotiated).
Licensing & requirements

- Estimated privileging: Credentialing takes 30 to 40 days

Highly prefer someone certified or eligible but it is not a deal breaker. someone local/ drive in candidate Willing to work in person in the office. No remote option.
